Spearmint - Hardy perennial mint popular in teas. Spearmint has a much lower menthol level than peppermint, is sweeter, and pairs well with savory dishes. In a pinch, however, they can be used interchangeably.

Lemon Mint - Though this American native mint is an annual, it will return each year if allowed to reseed. Beautiful spikes of purple flowers attract lots of pollinators including butterflies and hummingbirds. The leaves have many culinary uses including teas, flavorings for savory dishes, and can also be crushed and rubbed on the skin for an insect repellent.
